Decision

7.0.1.4. Decide which badges to offer

Required

The National Council sets no limit on how many badges one person may be approved for. A council may set one, as long as it does not narrow a Scout's choices — especially in a small or remote unit — into a barrier to advancement.

Notes and warnings

Note. Start with the Eagle-required badges, which are the obvious musts, then the ones most popular locally. Reports on merit badges earned can be generated at the council service centre. For low-demand subjects a counselor may appear on more than one district list.
